About the team
The City's Haulage and Logistics Operations Team sit within the Construction Business Unit who are responsible for the project management of all community facilities and open space capital works projects (including new/update and renewals), for the city’s community facing facilities including the city's community centres, libraries, sporting venues, aquatic centres, cemeteries, landfills, waste and recycling centres, and open space areas including beaches, waterways, lakes, foreshores and parklands.
About your new role
As a HR Truck Driver you will be responsible for safely driving and operating water trucks or tipper trucks to deliver cost effective fleet and plant solutions for internal council service providers.
Responsibilities will include:
- Recording driver operator prestart maintenance records, risk assessments and fault reporting of Council's heavy plant and equipment
- Performing duties such as answer telephones, two-way radios, work orders, logbooks, incident reports
- From time to time, assisting other council staff and contractors on site. This may entail manual labouring and the use of hand tools.
- Maintaining a high level of communication by liaising with relevant project supervisors regarding the safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment
We're looking for people who have:
- Experience in driving and operating Fuel trucks and/or Water trucks and/or Tipper trucks, including Truck & Dogs
- A high level of self-motivation and initiative, with the ability to work unsupervised
- The ability to work productively in a team environment and foster good relationships with other team members
- Able to deliver a high-quality service to customers (internal/external) and understand and react responsively to customer and line lead expectations
- The flexibility to work weekends and public holiday where required
- Possess a HR licence or above
- Possess a General Construction Induction (White Card).
