Description:

RACQ is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Internal Auditor to join our Group Internal Audit (GIA) team. This role will provide reliable, relevant and independent assurance to the business and the RACQ Boards through the conduct of audits, assurance and advisory activities relating to all aspects of RACQ operations which appropriately manage strategic, financial and operational risks.

About the Role

As an Internal Auditor, you will play a key role in providing independent assurance to the business and the RACQ Boards and drive positive change. You will contribute to all aspects of the audit process, from planning and execution to reporting and verification activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits in a professional and timely manner, identifying control gaps, operational inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Contribute and support the Principal Auditors and GIA Managers to establish audit objectives and scope areas using a risk-based approach.
  • Design and implement appropriate audit testing procedures.
  • Contribute to the provision of accurate and concise audit reports with value-added insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the GIA team and stakeholders across the RACQ Group.
  • Pro-actively maintain up-to-date knowledge of internal audit, risk management, and related disciplines.
  • Assist in the follow-up of outstanding management action plans and the preparation of findings.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the internal audit function.

Skills and Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in internal audit or a related field
  • Strong understanding of internal audit principles and methodologies.
  • Proven experience in effectively performing risk-based audits and advisory activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to clearly and succinctly communicate outcomes which compel appropriate action.
  • Ability to understand, document and support with the analysis of complex information, structures, processes and concepts.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.
  • Ability to help design and execute audit tests.
  • Ability to effectively compile a quality audit file, including an accurate and complete risk and control matrix.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with the GIA team and stakeholders across the RACQ Group.
  • Experience in Technology audits, and/or Project Assurance reviews is also desired but not essential.
