The Opportunity
We are seeking a pharmacist to join our team at Slade Pharmacy in New Town, Tasmania in a full-time position. This role is perfect for someone passionate about stepping out from behind the counter to connect with the community, deliver exceptional pharmacy services, and support the quality use of medicines.
Responsibilities
  • Engage with Customers: Step out from behind the counter and connect with customers, offering your expert support and guidance.
  • Educate & Advise: Share your knowledge on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection, and proper medicine use with both customers and staff.
  • Efficient Prescription Preparation: Prepare prescriptions quickly and accurately, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
  • Medication Counselling: Provide up-to-date, evidence-based advice on both prescription and over-the-counter medications.
  • Collaborate with Local Professionals: Build and maintain strong relationships with local health professionals, enhancing community healthcare.

Pharmacy Operating Hours
Monday to Friday - 8:30am - 6:00pm
Saturday - 8:30am - 2:00pm
Sunday & Public Holidays – Closed

Eligibility Requirements
  • Australian working rights
  • A current AHPRA-general registration
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and manage interactions with doctors and multidisciplinary teams.

Highly Desirable
  • Compounding experience

We are a dedicated, close-knit team providing both general and specialised pharmacy services to the wider community along with aged care and group home facilities, IVF providers, ophthalmic practices and day surgeries.
