About the role

As a first point of contact for the team, the Engineering Technician is responsible for providing timely technical advice and guidance to Field Operations, ensuring consistency with standards and industry best practice. The Engineering Technician plays an important role in reviewing defects and managing emerging asset risks on behalf of the Field Engineering team.

A key aspect of the position is supporting the adoption of change and improvement to our operation, such as new equipment, technology, and work practices. An Engineering Technician provides the team with practical experience and skills to ensure engineering initiatives are acceptable and sustainable.

About you

You will hold a Diploma or Associate Degree in Engineering or have extensive trade and field experience and a desire to undertake professional development in the engineering field. Familiarity with electrical network operation and maintenance is required, as well as the ability to interpret and practically apply engineering standards and industry guidelines in an operational environment.

The successful candidate will have also have -

  • High degree of problem solving, organisational, and time management skills
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, such as Word and Excel
  • Ability to work effectively as a team to prioritise and manage stakeholder needs
