The Opportunity:
McArthur is seeking a Program Officer, to assist our local government client with the effective delivery of programs, projects, and events at positive ageing service hubs. The role will involve coordinating activities, handling enquiries from the community and completing administrative and financial tasks.
This is a great part time opportunity until May 30th, 2025, and has a casual rate of $44.02 per hour + Superannuation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Positive Ageing activities including room setup and dining room support.
- Assist with community activities, like launches and events.
- Create and maintain promotional materials (newsletter, website, pamphlets, social media) following CoH branding.
- Manage administrative tasks for Positive Ageing programs, including databases, bookings, receipts, and orders.
- Support and supervise volunteers with the Hub Coordinator.
- Handle public enquiries via face-to-face, phone, website, and social media.
- Maintain financial records for the venue, including till reconciliation, petty cash, and kitchen operations.
- Coordinate bookings, including inductions, calendar management, and invoicing.
Selection Criteria:
- Knowledge and practical experience working in community sector projects.
- Well-developed administrative, clerical and basic financial management skills.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to coordinate and work with a team of volunteers.
- Ability to work unsupervised and cooperatively as part of a team in a busy environment with competing demands.
Essential Criteria:
- Current Driver's License.
- Proof of working rights.
- Clear National Police Check.
- Working with Vulnerable People Check
- Cert III or higher in Community Services
