About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join FS Custom Builds PTY LTD as a CARPENTRY FIRST YEAR APPRENTICE in Adelaide, SA 5000. As a full-time position, you will be undertaking an apprenticeship to become a qualified carpenter, learning from experienced professionals and gaining hands-on experience in the field of carpentry.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting experienced carpenters with a variety of carpentry tasks, such as constructing timber frames for new homes, cladding, decks and pergolas.
- Learning how to read and interpret, plans and drawings.
- Gaining experience in the use of power tools and hand tools common to the carpentry trade
- Developing skills in measuring, cutting, and shaping wood to specification
- Learning how to install windows, doors, and other fixtures
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment
- Completing on-the-job training and attending vocational classes to obtain your carpentry qualification
What we're looking for
- A passion for the trades and a desire to learn the carpentry craft
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions precisely
- Good manual dexterity and the physical capability to perform the tasks required
- A keen interest in working with your hands and a commitment to developing your skills
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the willingness to learn
- Must have a drivers license
- Must be an Australian citizen
