About the Opportunity
The Legal Officer will assist the Response Unit to ensure that the South Australian Government meets its requirements in responding to formal and informal requests from the Commonwealth Scheme Operator. The Legal Officer will also provide advice to the Attorney-General and Chief Executive on legal policy and law reform relevant to the National Redress Scheme, under the supervision of the Manager of the Response Unit.
The Legal Officer will liaise with State government agencies and the Commonwealth Department of Social Services to ensure timely, accurate and agreed responses and interactions with the National Redress Scheme.

The Attorney-General’s Department (AGD) supports the State Redress Response Unit (SRRU), which coordinates the participation of the South Australian Government in the National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse (the National Redress Scheme).

Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
