We are seeking a Patient Services Administrator to join our dedicated team at Port Lincoln Health Services. In this vital role, you’ll contribute to the smooth operation of our health services by managing patient records, providing professional reception services, and supporting the administrative needs of the team.
About the Role
As the Patient Services Administrator, you’ll be responsible for maintaining an efficient patient management system, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping, and contributing to the overall smooth running of the health unit. You will support the creation, storage, and disposal of medical and general records, while also handling patient reception, switchboard operations, and maintaining filing systems. Your work will ensure that our patients and visitors receive a seamless and efficient service, contributing to their positive experience.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date patient management system.
- Ensure the creation, retention, and disposal of medical records in line with relevant guidelines.
- Provide a professional and welcoming reception service to patients and visitors.
- Operate the switchboard and public address system.
- Assist in training new staff and collaborate as part of a dedicated team.
- Foster positive relationships with internal and external customers.
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in file management and administrative duties.
- Excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise and manage workload.
- Strong communication skills, capable of fostering good relationships at all levels.
- Ability to work independently, accepting responsibility for accurate task completion.
- Proven experience in working with diverse groups, respecting cultural differences.
Flexibility to work a rotating 7-day roster.
