We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and competent Engineering Manager to join our team.

About the Role:
This is a full time salaried position with varied start and finish times throughout the 24 hour period, generally Monday to Friday. However, some weekend work will be required from time to time. It is an excellent opportunity to give the right individual the chance to demonstrate their ability as we expand our business in a growing market.
You will be part of a successful and dynamic team. It is important you are well organised and efficient as there are multiple tasks to be completed each day, often with strict deadlines. With your primary focus on machinery preventative maintenance, you will be required to work cooperatively with the Manufacturing Manager, Production Shift Managers, Technical Manager and other key staff in ensuring the smooth operation of the factory floor.

Some of the Duties and Responsibilities:
This is a key management position within our team and on a day to day basis you will be responsible for providing a high level of maintenance support in duties such as, but not limited to the following.
- develop a preventative and breakdown maintenance plan ensuring optimisation of safety, quality and cost
- Your primary responsibilities will be troubleshooting and improving line efficiency through minor modifications.
- Lead and inspire, train and mentoring of a small maintenance team. You will direct and prioritise their activities to achieve optimal outcomes
- Work closely with the production teams to ensure bakery and packing equipment is running efficiently with minimal down time across a 24/5 manufacturing plant.
- Carry out preventative maintenance Schedules as per MEX Maintenance program.
- Carry out risk assessments regularly
- Create procedures and ensure thorough training is provided.
- Welding repairs (all Stainless Steel) - Co2, TIG and ARG welding required.
- Manage general site maintenance
- Manage the maintenance budget and track spending
- ensure compliance, upkeep and maintenance of assets
- implement a robust preventative and planned maintenance program to reduce breakdowns, optimise equipment lifespan
- ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
Skills Required:
- You will be able to demonstrate previous experience managing an engineering & maintenance environment and ideally previous experience in the FMCG industry
- Contractor management for all site maintenance related contractors
- strong organizational and time management skills
- excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- high level of attention to detail and accuracy required
- excellent communication skills are required
- Good computing skills in Microsoft Office Skills in Word, Excel and Power Point
- experience with MEX desirable, but not essential
- If you hold an Electrical license this will greatly increase your prospects.
- Metal fabrication and in particular TIG and Co2 welding is essential in this role
- Exposure to bakery and packaging machines in a food production facility is highly desirable.
About You:
- You will have proficient leadership and management experience
- A strong mechanical aptitude and be a self-starter
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume food FMCG environment is preferable as well as a proven record to drive and sustain process improvements
- Experience in the mechanics of mixers, bakery machines, ovens & packing machines (desirable)
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a work environment that has high work volumes
- You will have a mature attitude, be confident, self-motivated and good at multitasking
- You will have the ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment and discretion
- You will have relevant engineering degree or trade qualification, Electrical license desirable
- You will have 5+ years’ experience of working in a maintenance management role or similar
- You will be a strong communicator with the ability to forge strong internal and external relationships and have the ability to influence at all levels within the company
- You will be able to take on instructions and complete tasks independently
- You will have an analytical and mathematical mindset, be capable of evaluating and solving complex issues
