Manager Prefabrication Production Facility
Duties and Responsibilities
· The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimising manufacturing and logistics processes within a Reinforcement (reo) pre-fabrication facility. This role involves scheduling production, managing material flow, planning transport, deliveries, and improving efficiency while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Skills and Experience
Experience
· Strong understanding of steel reinforcement prefabrication, welding, and steel fixing processes. (not preferred)
· Experience in logistics, workforce management, and project coordination.
· Knowledge of health & safety regulations and quality control standards in the construction and manufacturing sectors.

Key Responsibilities
1. Production Management
- Oversee the fabrication of reinforcing cages to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with project specifications. - Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer deadlines and optimize workflow. - Monitor and maintain production KPIs, including output rates, material usage, and waste reduction. - Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to maintain productivity. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing and process optimization.
2. Workforce & HR Management
- Lead, train, and manage a team of steel fixers, welders, machine operators, and support staff. - Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of employees. - Ensure a safe and productive work environment by promoting teamwork, discipline, and accountability. - Conduct regular staff meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to ensure workforce engagement and compliance. - Address HR matters, including employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and performance reviews in collaboration with HR personnel.
3. Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination
- Coordinate the procurement and delivery of raw materials (reinforcement steel, welding consumables, etc.) to maintain an uninterrupted production flow. - Liaise with suppliers, transport companies, and project teams to ensure timely deliveries and dispatches. - Optimize inventory management to reduce costs and avoid delays.
- Oversee the loading, transport, and delivery of prefabricated cages to project sites, ensuring compliance with safety and handling standards.
4. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all operations comply with workplace health and safety regulations (WHS/OHS). - Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to prevent accidents and injuries. - Enforce the use of PPE and safe work procedures across all production activities. - Maintain quality assurance and compliance with relevant industry standards and project specifications.
5. Equipment & Facility Maintenance
- Oversee the maintenance and servicing of machinery, welding equipment, cutting tools, and handling equipment. - Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. - Ensure the facility is organized, clean, and operates efficiently.
6. Reporting & Cost Control
- Prepare and submit production reports, workforce performance data, and cost analysis to senior management. - Monitor labour, material, and operational costs to ensure profitability and cost control. - Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high production standards.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term
Contract length: 24 months
Pay: $100,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
