The Role
DDG is building a team (the chapter) of Cost Estimators to ensure our Digital Capability projects and programs are accurately costed, delivered within budget and achieve maximum value for money. The chapter will be led by a suitably experienced Chapter Lead. Our successful candidate will work to develop a standard cost estimation model, tailored to Defence’s digital capability portfolio and based on a range of source data, tools and techniques. They will also build and lead a team of cost estimation SME’s to work with Project Managers and other key stakeholders to operationalise the use of the model across the DDG portfolio.
As a Chapter Lead, the role is also responsible for leading the professionalisation of the Cost Estimation function within DDG and will mentor, guide and support junior cost estimators. The role sits within the DDG Program Management Office (PrMO), where you will be supported by several other Chapter Lead peers. The Department will be creating merit pools to fill vacancies across the Organisation over the next 18 months.
