About the Role
Due to our continued growth, we are looking for suitably qualified and experienced Hazardous Area ( HA) Electrical Engineer to join us on multiple renewable energy construction projects on a 2/1 Roster . As an HA Electrical Engineer with Monford, you will provide a technical background in electrical engineering, with expertise in hazardous area classification, electrical systems design, installation, and maintenance in a solar farm environment. In addition, some of your key responsibilities will include;
- Design and oversee the installation of electrical systems in hazardous areas within solar farms.
- Develop and review electrical designs, schematics, and documentation for hazardous area installations.
- Provide technical support during the installation, commissioning, and maintenance phases of the project.
- Perform risk assessments and ensure the implementation of safety protocols for electrical installations.
- Collaborate with project teams, including site engineers, contractors, and safety officers, to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues related to hazardous area equipment and systems.
- Provide guidance and training to site personnel on hazardous area electrical safety practices.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, industrial and supplier organisations.
- Ensure all applicable HSE and Quality policies and procedures are effectively implemented.
About You
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following;
- You will hold the Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Valid Australian Electrical License and relevant certifications (HA Electrical Engineer certification desirable).
- At least 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on hazardous areas (HA).
- Experience in designing and installing electrical systems in hazardous areas (HA) on industrial projects, preferably in solar farms or renewable energy.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety practices, risk assessments, and compliance.
- Ability to interpret and apply hazardous area classification drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to liaise with key stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
