About the job:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the financial records of our organisation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. The Senior Bookkeeper will work autonomously, reporting directly to the Director to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information.
Responsibilities:
- All aspects of accounts receivable (including debt collection)
- All aspects of accounts payable (including reconciliations)
- All aspects of weekly payroll
- All aspects of monthly superannuation reconciliation and payments
- Conduct end of month reconciliations including bank accounts, GST, PAYG, fixed assets and credit cards
- Preparation of weekly cash flow forecasts
- Assistance with cash flow management and budgets
- Assistance with optimisation of day-to-day business within Xero
- Payment of supplier invoices with use of ABA files to process batch payments
- Preparation and lodgement BAS on a monthly basis
- Preparation and lodgement of QRO/Payroll Tax requirements.
- Conduct basic reviews to identify areas for improvement and potential inaccuracies
- Ensure Xero is accurately tracking, and reporting, all financial data correctly
- Investigating any discrepancies or variances where necessary
- Ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality
- Ensure compliance with all internal policies & procedures around financial management, including legal obligations
About you:
- Tertiary qualifications in finance (e.g. Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Certificate IV in Accounting)
- At least 2 years experience as a Senior Bookkeeper
- At least 2 years experience using Xero accounting software to an advanced level.
- At least 2 years experience in the lodgement of BAS
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
