Our client, a Queensland Government Department, are currently seeking a Program Manager for an initial 12-month contract.

The Program

Data and Artificial Intelligence division aids government agencies to find solutions to complex challenges through analytics and provide policy and business advice on how to manage, use and publish data.
The focus area of Insights, Analytics and Platforms (IAP) deliver solutions through three key services of planning and strategy, analytics services, and cloud analytics platforms.
Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, influence and manage relationships with and between internal and external stakeholders, identifying cross government synergies and opportunities for collaboration in delivery of AI project and initiative outcomes.
  • Lead and manage a number of implementation, transformation and change projects, in order to achieve program outcomes in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Facilitate the prioritisation and strategic alignment of initiatives to contribute towards strategic decision making
  • Facilitate regular project assurance activities, to help mitigate risk effectively.

  • Facilitate regular project assurance activities, to help mitigate risk effectively.
  • Lead effective project planning, risk, change, quality, and resource management activities within projects to support successful project delivery, and consistent application of program and project management methodologies.
  • Lead the monitoring and reporting within the program of projects' benefits, schedules, dependencies, finances, and general status.
  • Lead the management of financial planning, budgets and vendor engagements and contracts to ensure successful project outcomes.

About you

  • Demonstrate experience and expertise in agile program management of greenfield and transformation projects, including the use of technology and supporting systems and processes to enable the successful delivery of project outcomes.
  • Demonstrate previous hands on experience in delivering complex digital, systems development and / or systems integration projects and have demonstrated skills in one of digital solutions, organisational change management or customer experience domains.
  • Demonstrate experience in high level negotiation, consultation, facilitation and effective written and oral communication skills for use in a complex program delivery environment.
  • Advanced relationship management skills, including proven stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence to enable the development of positive working relationships to support effective business change to achieve organisational outcomes
  • Apply strategic thinking and planning and explore and implement new ways of thinking to enhance the delivery of projects and the achievement of organisational goals.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective management of budget, people and processes across multiple projects.
