K92 Mining are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in PNG. Since commencing operations in 2016, they have delivered consistent production growth and contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which K92 operates.
They are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. Description
Reporting to the VP Human Resources, the purpose of this role is to provide support to approximately 200 corporate and expatriate employee groups across the entire employee lifecycle.
In addition, the role partners with the business, to drive and implement HR strategies, policies, and practices across different locations and cultures. This includes.
- Developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and practices that align with the organization's goals, and comply with local labour laws
- Support the business in employee relations matters including providing guidance on disciplinary actions, grievance procedures, and conflict resolution, whilst considering cultural nuances and legal requirements in different locations.
- Provide oversight of the Global mobility function.
- Lead the upcoming HRIS implementation and ensure that existing systems are optimised and embedded within the organisation.
Profile
To success in this role, you will need to be an excellent communicator, who possesses strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills. Additionally, you will be able to demonstrate a track record of success in a similar role, ideally within the Mining, Oil and Gas or Engineering sectors and have some or all the following
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration or related field (desirable)
- Demonstrated experience in an operational (site) environment, preferably in a developing country.
- An understanding of and experience in the application of Australian employment legislation.
- Experience working within a matrix organisation and exposure to HR practises across multiple jurisdictions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work across different cultures.
- Experience in HRIS/ system implementation.
- Project / change management experience.
- The ability to travel to site (PNG) when required
