About the role:
Due to an internal promotion and our Client Services growing, an opportunity now exists for a Team Leader to join our team.
The role of Team Leader reports directly to the People & Culture Manager and is primarily responsible for supervising, leading and managing a team of Community Workers. This is a full-time position and provides leadership and support to our Community Workers, providing clear communication and engagement to effectively manage their day to day activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a team of Community Workers, including Support Workers, Domestic Assistants, Home & Garden Maintenance Workers, and Transport Drivers.
- Provide supervision, coaching, and performance management, including probation and annual reviews.
- Maintain a high standard of service delivery and oversee activities to meet quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and Aged Care Quality Standards.
- Address client incidents, feedback, and complaints, ensuring effective resolution.
- Conduct team meetings to foster engagement, communication, and professional development.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and workforce retention initiatives.
- Collaborate with Scheduling and Coordination teams to ensure efficient service delivery.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership role.
- Certificate III, or higher, in Individual Support (Ageing) or related qualification.
- Skills in coaching and mentoring to support growth and development of Community Workers in delivering high quality services to clients, and lead and model courtesy and respect.
- Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and facilitate and conduct training.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and apply policies, guidelines, meet legislative and funding requirements.
- Demonstrate a clear commitment to the Core Values of Melville Cares.
- ‘C’ class WA driver’s license.
- Strong Microsoft suite and IT knowledge and experience.
- National Police clearance (less than 3 months old).
