South Coast Baptist College is seeking a dedicated Football Coach to lead and inspire our secondary student-athletes in the Football Academy Program. You'll design dynamic training programs, develop technical and tactical skills, and instill values of teamwork, academic excellence, and Christian character. Position Requirements:

  • Develop and manage football programs, including training, reporting, and performance plans.
  • Deliver high-quality sessions to enhance technical, tactical, and physical skills.
  • Apply sports science principles, including fitness, injury prevention, and nutrition.
  • Support student-athletes' academic and personal growth for holistic development.
  • Instil values of sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and resilience.
  • Engage with staff, parents, and the SCBC community to foster a supportive environment.
  • Promote a strong sports culture aligned with SCBC’s Christian values.

Selection Criteria:

  • Faith & Values: Commitment to Christian values and SCBC’s mission.
  • Coaching Expertise: Strong knowledge of modern coaching methods, training design, and player development.
  • Sports Science & Performance: Understanding of fitness, injury prevention, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Leadership & Communication: Ability to motivate, mentor, and effectively convey strategies.
  • Organisational Skills: Experience in planning training, match preparation, and team logistics.
  • Commitment to Growth: Passion for professional development, mentoring, and fostering sportsmanship.
  • Experience: Proven track record in elite-level coaching, preferably in a youth academy or school setting.

Essential Criteria:

  • A personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Active participation in a church or Christian community, exemplifying Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices.
  • Acceptance of the College’s Statement of Faith.
  • Ability to build cooperative and supportive relationships with the Board, Principal, staff, students, and parents.
  • Commitment to personal best practice.
  • Ensure decisions are impartial, fact-based, and fair.
  • Model appropriate and proper channels of communication.
  • Consistently act in the best interests of the College and its ethos.
  • Adherence to all policies and procedures outlined by SCBC.
  • Commitment to maintaining a child-safe environment in line with the College’s values and policies.
  • Possession of the following certifications:
  • National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children Check
  • First Aid Certificate
