Description:
Business Planning
- Leadership Role : As part of the JAPAC Leadership Team (JLT), oversee the establishment of a regional business plan.
- Departmental Objectives : Use the business plan to establish departmental objectives and communicate them to relevant parties.
- Systems & Programs Implementation : Oversee the planning and implementation of systems and programs to ensure business needs are met.
- Strategic Input : Actively participate in the JLT, providing input into the regional and company's strategic plan.
Organisational Development
- External Relationships : Build and maintain relationships with external customers and key contacts.
- Representation : Represent the organization in negotiations, conferences, seminars, and official occasions.
- Stakeholder Engagement : Liaise with major suppliers, customers, industry associations, and government representatives.
Financial Management
- P&L Responsibility : Full responsibility for the P&L of the assigned territory.
- Budget Oversight : Oversee the preparation of consolidated budgets, financial reports, and forecasts for the region/division.
- Target Achievement : Ensure achievement of regional budget gross profit and EBITDA targets.
- Funding Authorization : Authorize funds to implement programs and business strategies.
- Expenditure Control : Ensure compliance with budget and approval systems for capital expenditure requests.
People Management & Development
- Leadership & Guidance : Manage the team on a day-to-day basis through sound leadership, guidance, and open communication.
- Staffing & Performance : Ensure staffing, skill, and performance levels are adequate to meet business requirements.
- Training & Development : Identify training and development needs, collaborate with HR to design individualized development plans, and ensure they are recorded and reviewed quarterly
Business Development, Growth Strategies, and Plans
- In-Licensing & Acquisitions : Lead and be responsible for successfully in-licensing new assets, company acquisitions, and strategic partnerships for commercial opportunities in the region.
- Lead Generation : Scout and generate leads for new assets, molecules, and compounds aligned with the company's therapeutic focus and regional needs.
- Regional Market Understanding : Have a deep understanding of the regulatory, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and reimbursement environments in the region.
Requirements:
- Senior Leadership Experience : Proven success in a senior leadership role within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Tertiary & Industry Qualifications : Relevant tertiary education and industry-specific qualifications.
- Pharmaceutical/Healthcare Industry Experience : Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is advantageous.
- Unlicensed Medicines Expertise : Experience in the importation and supply of unlicensed medicines within the region.
- Team Leadership : Demonstrated ability to lead a high-performing team to success.
- Sales & Profit Success : A strong track record of consistently exceeding sales and profit targets over multiple years.
- Strategic Relationships : Evidence of successfully forging strategic relationships and creating effective business partnerships.
- Influencing & Negotiation Skills : Strong influencing and negotiation skills applicable at all organizational levels.
- Regulatory Knowledge : Deep understanding of the processes related to unlicensed medicines in the assigned territory.
- Adaptability & Motivation : Flexible, adaptive, and self-motivated with a proactive approach.
- Travel Availability : Willingness and ability to travel as required.
