About The Role
We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced and dynamic DC Shift Manager to lead our newly created Afternoon Shift (3.30pm to 11.30pm) at our state-of-the-art DC in Tullamarine.
The key objective of this crucial role will be to safely deliver excellent customer service to our customers both internal and external that exceed expectations.
You will be responsible for ensuring the shift operations are cost effective and efficient and build the best team culture in line with The Milwaukee Way values.
Reporting to the DC Operations Manager your day to day will include:
- Lead your team to ensure all orders are picked and despatched within agreed timelines - DIFOT
- Ensure the team's pick accuracy exceeds minimum benchmark levels and put-away from GR is achieved within 24hrs of receipt
- Provide training and support in the use of the SAP & WMS systems and their associated procedures for all warehouse tasks
- Prepare and report day/weekly/monthly as appropriate on agreed KPI measures and analysis to ensure all targets are met
- Lead and manage your team to be compliant with all appropriate and applicable WHS policies and legislation, ensuring a safe working environment
- Support the Operations Manager to manage labour, storage & material handling equipment (MHE) requirements to meet current and forecast activity levels
- Encourage and facilitate multi-skilling on your shift using appropriate training and development programs
- Develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement using appropriate training and tools (e.g. LEAN)
- Liaise and communicate daily with key stakeholders of service to our business
- Support the operations manager to ensure planned preventative maintenance; PPM and safe working method statements
Ideally you will have a background in a similar DC Shift Manager role within a fast paced, innovative industry and are ready for a new challenge in a Greenfield environment. You are passionate about process improvement and safety and love to see your team grow and develop.
In addition you will have the following skills/attributes:
- Highly developed and effective people management skills
- Strong organisational skills and an ability to multitask/prioritise workloads
- Fast and responsive able to work to strict deadlines
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills to all levels.
- Ability to develop a team culture based on trust and respect
- Previous experience leading large teams of 25 people plus.
- Experience within an FMCG warehouse environment with - 20,000 sqm+ and high sku counts
- Extensive experience with a comprehensive and complex warehouse management system (e.g. SAP EWM, Oracle, Microlistics)
- Strong ability to use Microsoft Office programs
