Darling Group is in search for a passionate and hands-on Assistant Manager to join the growing team at Higher Ground. This role will suit an experienced hospitality professional, confident in working with a team of professionals in a vibrant and highly energetic work environment.

The Assistant Manager helps to oversee the venue operations and ensures the venue is running effectively and efficiently, meeting all company standards each day to include, execution of food and beverage service, guest interaction, atmosphere, cleanliness, team mentoring and training.
About Higher Ground:
Housed in a heritage-listed powerhouse, Higher Ground is an all-day dining destination located in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. Six connected levels wrap around the perimeter of the original brick building to create a suite of intimate tiered platforms. An evocative, inventive, and highly curated menu offers guests the very best that Melbourne has to offer. Open for breakfast and lunch daily, with a recently expanded afternoon snack and dinner menu now on offer Wednesday to Saturday.
The venue seats up to 200 guests and includes numerous event spaces – from intimate group bookings, single level bookings and exclusive evening hire. Higher Ground is an iconic Melbourne venue, consistently busy with high volume reservations and walk in visitors.
Experience & Skills:
- Passionate about people, hospitality and experiences
- Previous experience in a similar position in a high-volume venue
- Exemplary service skills and standards
- Sophisticated leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across different venues and teams and lead by example
- Strong organisation skills with the capability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of attention to detail and forward thinking to identify opportunities
- Able and willing to work a rotating roster including weekend, public holiday, morning and evening services.
- Experience with reservations and POS systems
