ABOUT THE ROLE
You will lead the strategic direction of safety for Oceania as they embark on their next phase of change. This position is a key enabler in partnering with their global footprint to deliver a positive strategy, promote practical change and forge stronger connections with the operations.
Key focus
- Engage with key stakeholders to understand the journey to date in setting and driving the future strategy, programs and initiatives required to enable the required step-change in culture and performance
- Drive the execution of a safe, simple and efficient safety strategy across a complex and broad operational footprint, translating strong safety engagement into meaningful outcomes at the coal face
- Coach the senior leadership teams to develop their safety leadership capability and practices, and drive improvements in safety cultural maturity
- Collaborate, Innovate and think differently in developing and delivering a practical and pragmatic roadmap for change
- Lead and empower a team through challenging and supporting them to grow, partner effectively across the region
- Pragmatic and customer-centric, you will have a demonstrated background leading HSE across large, complex matrix style environments
- Proven experience in engaging and forging relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation
- Extensive knowledge of contemporary safety concepts, theories and business enablers with the ability to bring a lens of what good looks like to the region
- Significant experience in leading safety in high-risk industries with experience across manufacturing, transport/logistics highly regarded
- Your ability and willingness to “roll up your sleeves” when required, leading from the front and balancing strategic and operational requirements will set you apart from your peers.
