Senior Clinician – Eating Disorders Team
- Exciting new opportunity to join Orygen Specialist Program Eating Disorders team
- Part Time (0.5) ongoing
- Multidisciplinary role – OT3, SW3, P3 and RPN4
- Based in Sunshine with satellite services covering Werribee and Melton
Your new team
Orygen eating disorders is an emerging stream within the evolving Orygen service system. This program will partner with young people, families/carers and the Orygen workforce to provide evidence-based best practice eating disorder assessments and interventions. The eating disorders stream will have clinicians providing secondary and primary consultation and assist in the management of eating disorders across Orygen services.
Care will be in partnership with ongoing care providers and enable opportunities for targeted interventions that can be completed within the home, sub-acute and acute environments. The Eating Disorders stream will also develop key partnerships with external stakeholders representing Orygen within Eating Disorder networks and utilising these relationships to support collaborative care and to young people to engage with those agencies should they require their supports.
Applicants will be offered training and supervision in cognitive analytic therapy while in this role.
About your new role:
- Provide high-quality family-inclusive integrated consultations, based on clinical experience working with young people with eating disorders and other serious mental illness and substance use.
- The Senior Family Work Clinician is expected to function autonomously as well as work collaboratively with the Continuing Care Teams, the Continuing Care Team Coordinator, the Clinical Stream Leaders, and the Lead Family Work Clinician to plan and develop services for young people and their families that are consistent with best practice standards and evidence-based care and are in line with the strategic direction and vision for Orygen.
- Participate in the development of a framework for eating disorders care across Orygen, engaging and collaborating with Orygen Primary, Specialist and Research programs.
- Participate in collaboratively designing, developing and delivering eating disorder training packages across primary and tertiary care.
About You:
- Qualifications in a relevant area of practice.
- A post graduate level qualification in Family/Systems Therapy.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in provision of mental health treatment, including with young people.
- Knowledge of the rationale and evidence for early intervention in mental illness.
