About the role
The Child Development Service Psychologist (Advanced – Paediatric) role provides advanced level psychological assessment and intervention to children, young people and adolescents with developmental, behavioural, and emotional concerns. This role operates as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of a child/young person's developmental strengths and challenges to optimise their participation and engagement in activities of everyday life. As an advanced position, this role also provides leadership and development of psychology professional practice across within the child development service and across Psychology in West Moreton.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Advanced psychology clinical expertise in complex contemporary child development clinical practice and skill within a health setting and knowledge of the provision of psychology services in a community health and/or hospital-based service.
- Advanced level verbal, interpersonal, and written skills in application to effective communication with patients, psychologists, and multi-disciplinary team members in a community health setting.
- Ability to provide clinical leadership in the maintenance and development of psychology services.
- Ability to actively contribute to a learning environment through clinical supervision, mentoring, and skill sharing.
- Ability to identify opportunities for quality improvement and research, and actively contribute to same.
- Honesty, integrity, and respect for all patients, carers, and staff.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
