The role
You will be ultimately responsible for the project management, drafting and delivery of the National Maternity Workforce Strategy to the Health Workforce Taskforce and Health Ministers.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the planning, stakeholder engagement, consultation and co-design processes required to develop a National Maternity Workforce Strategy to inform and support the attraction, recruitment, development and retention of a maternity services workforce with the skills, attributes and competencies to provide maternity services for the national community now and into the future.
- Lead collaboration and negotiation through positive and productive partnerships with health sector stakeholders across all jurisdictions, including state and territory agencies and departments, clinical networks, unions and associations, community and consumer representatives, education providers, regulatory authorities, national and state government decision makers and funding providers.
- Lead an integrated approach to strategy development and planning, effectively managing interdependencies across jurisdictional boundaries, through the application of best-practice project management principles, including effective governance, resource allocation, risk and issue management and compliance with all reporting requirements to successfully deliver high quality project outcomes on time and within budget.
The successful person
You will have demonstrated:
- A successful and proven record as a senior leader of similar portfolios or projects in a large, complex organisation.
- Ability to develop, lead and implement workforce strategies, systems, programs, policies, and operational practices to successfully support the strategic objectives of an organisation.
- Experience in managing change, transformation and/or business improvement and the delivery of associated initiatives across a large and complex organisation.
- Effective expertise in building and maintaining stakeholder engagement and consultation.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills that enable effective interaction with a wide range of people from a variety of backgrounds, professions, and experiences.
- Effective organisational and project management skills.
