Description:

Prosthetic/Orthotic and Podiatry Services are looking for a Prosthetic/Orthotic Assistant to join their team. This department is a multi-disciplinary clinically based Allied Health unit, providing high level clinical and consultancy prosthetic, orthotic and podiatry services to the specialist Acute and Rehabilitation Departments. In this role you will contribute to patient care by providing administrative and clinical assistance to Allied Health professionals in their day-to-day clinical duties.

About the Role

  • Provide a range of individual patient interventions as delegated by the Allied health professionals (AHP) and work under the direction of AHPs.
  • Prepare and /or implement individual or group treatment programs for patients under the supervision and direction of the therapists and report on patient performance as required.
  • Undertake the transport, set up, monitoring and care of clinical equipment, therapy material, educational resources, and assistive devices.
  • Assist with the personal care, manual handling and transport of patients.
  • Undertake administrative tasks to ensure smooth operation of department.
