Fast-growing, innovative, technology-led design and manufacturer, based in Sydney is looking for a Design Engineer (Mould and Tool Design) to join the technical manufacturing team. The Role
- Delivery of projects from briefing through to production in a fast-paced product/tooling development environment
- Timely design of moulds, tools, automation, jigs, fixtures, and gauges
- Application of CAD skills to deliver design projects in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Timely creation of engineering drawings
- Assisting other departments with design for manufacture of components
- Ensuring a smooth flow of information to the tooling and manufacturing teams
Your Skills and Experience
- Engineering trade or relevant engineering tertiary qualification preferred
- Significant experience in tooling, with a focus on injection moulding and automation design; from simple end-of-arm tooling to lights out automation cells
- Significant experience in parametric design and simulation software
- Proficiency in VISI CAD/CAM, Solidworks will be beneficial
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of engineering drafting
- Demonstrated understanding of various manufacturing processes: turning, milling, grinding, wire-cut, EDM, injection moulding, pressure die casting
- Practical knowledge of metals/plastics, properties, and finishing
- Proficiency in process formulation and improvement
- Good written and verbal communication to all internal and external stakeholders
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
- Knowledge of WH&S standards
