Now Careers client is looking for a skilled and motivated Site Manager to oversee Class 1 and Class 2 residential and commercial projects. This key role involves managing all on-site activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with strong site management skills in structures, finishes, and fit-out services. You will oversee subcontractors, enforce safety and regulatory compliance, and ensure exceptional project outcomes.Key Responsibilities
Site Management
- Supervise and coordinate all Class 1 and Class 2 projects, ensuring smooth execution from start to finish.
- Oversee on-site operations, ensuring the project stays on schedule, within budget, and meets quality standards.
- Manage daily site activities, including inspections and coordination with trades.
- Ensure effective sequencing of construction tasks to minimise delays.
- Oversee subcontractors and suppliers to ensure work meets project specifications.
- Hold regular site meetings to monitor progress, resolve issues, and maintain productivity.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with company policies, safety standards, and project timelines.
- Implement a thorough defect management process to maintain high-quality workmanship.
- Identify and address defects promptly to ensure compliance with the NCC and Australian Standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks throughout each project phase.
- Stay updated on relevant construction regulations, building codes for Class 1 & 2 projects, and industry best practices.
- Ensure all work complies with the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards, and relevant safety legislation.
- Maintain compliance documentation and safety procedures according to company policies.
- Utilise project management software (e.g., Buildertrend, Procure) for scheduling, tracking, and reporting progress.
- Keep accurate records of site activities, safety logs, and project milestones.
- Provide regular updates on project status to the Project Manager and stakeholders.
- Foster a strong safety culture by enforcing site safety regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and site audits to minimise hazards and ensure worker safety.
- Implement and monitor safety procedures in line with Safe Work Australia guidelines.
- Act as the main point of contact for on-site coordination between clients, consultants, and trades.
- Identify and resolve on-site issues efficiently to avoid project delays.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and team to optimise project delivery.
- Comprehensive knowledge of NCC, Australian Standards, and construction regulations.
- Strong technical understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and sequencing.
- Proficiency in project management software (Buildertrend, Procure, Procore, or similar).
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant trade qualifications or tertiary education in construction management, building, or a related field.
