About the role
- Participate in the company's future strategies
- Set and review inventory and financial targets for the department
- Oversee the production process and manage the critical path to ensure delivery is maintained
- Manage the OTB targets for the department, and re-allocate the budget accordingly to maximise performance
- Participate and plan accordingly for range reviews, category plans, replans, promotional planning, option planning, planograms, store grading, allocations and replenishment
- Manage in-season and post-season performance, working with the Buyers and Planners on strategies moving forward, to identify best practice, lessons learnt, and improve performance
- Identify emerging trends and changing customer needs and market conditions appropriate to the category
- Manage, coach and develop the Planning team, including Planners and Assistant/Junior Planners
This role would be great for a strong and established Planning Manager, to be successful for this position, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following key skills and experience:
- Operating as an Planing Manager within a retailer
- Some indirect or direct line management experience
- OTB and WSSI management across your own categories/departments
- Option and range planning experience
- Honed IT systems and Excel skills, including Macros, Pivot Tables and V Look-Ups
- Commercial acumen with strong analytical skills
- Influencing and engaging both internal and external stakeholders effectively
