Your impact
Jacobs Grid Advisory team is at the forefront of the energy transition supporting our key clients (developers, tier one energy companies, utilities and asset owners) in their pursuit to reduce carbon emissions and reach NetZero. The Grid Advisory team partner with clients to aid their development or update of renewable energy assets, conduct feasibility studies, deliver detailed system studies along with asset management and future network planning. As part of this exciting position, you'll have the opportunity to work across the following
Deliver technically excellent engineering consultancy services for power systems projects.Manage client, OEM, and utility communications to ensure project timeframes are met.Coordinate with Global Integrated Delivery teams.Maintain compliance with Jacobs quality assurance procedures, including the review process.Mentor and facilitate knowledge sharing within teams.Support and manage project delivery while developing your technical abilities.Contribute to bid preparation as required.Identify opportunities to enhance project delivery.Promote and adhere to a strong safety culture.
Here's what you'll need
Here at Jacobs, you’ll use the latest Power System Studies technologies including PSS/E, PSCAD and Power factory which are vital for projects for BESS, On and Offshore Wind farm development, Solar Power, Hydrogen development and Electric Vehicles. You’ll work on projects predominately in Australia and potentially in New Zealand, and further afield in Asia and Europe. We're hoping to hear from those with the following skills and experience
In depth understanding of power system issues and demonstrated experience in power system studies from a range of renewable energy sourcesAbility to oversee the development and delivery of client projects with a particular focus on power system analysis, including network connections, application of regulatory requirements, network planning and compliance and reliability analysisEffective communicator and collaborator, with the aptitude to articulate the technical direction of proposal developmentExperience and ability to lead studies in one of the following power system software packages PSCAD, PSS/E or PowerFactory. We will support training in the software packages requiredExperience in Python will be highly regarded.A tertiary degree in a related electrical engineering field and post graduate studies are highly regarded
