Role overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Consultant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional with a strong consulting background to influence and shape the records management function within a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation.
The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of privacy, controls, and compliance, combined with exceptional leadership, stakeholder engagement, and policy development expertise.
This role will play a pivotal part in driving operational excellence and ensuring our organisation's records management processes align with complex regulatory requirements and industry standards.
The role reports to the Head of Consulting and involves working across major financial institutions in Australia who are clients of OCG.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consulting & Compliance: Provide strategic risk management advise practices, with a track record of ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and industry standards related to privacy and data retention.
- Professional Documentation: Developing and maintaining enterprise-level records management policies, procedures, and documentation that align with both strategic objectives and compliance obligations.
- Control Design & Implementation: Designing and implementing robust records management controls that ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of records across complex organisational structures.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives, regulators, and cross-functional teams, to drive alignment on records management initiatives, policies, and best practices.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional meetings to drive records management initiatives.
- Policy Development & Governance: In-depth experience in establishing and overseeing governance frameworks to ensure consistency, compliance, and strategic alignment of records management across the organisation.
- Regulatory Adherence: Expertise in interpreting and applying evolving regulations and industry standards regarding records and privacy, ensuring proactive compliance measures.
- Training & Awareness: Demonstrated capability in designing and delivering impactful training programmes that enhance organisational awareness and embed records management best practices.
- Extensive experience in consulting, privacy, controls, or compliance, preferably within a top-tier consulting firm or highly regulated industry.
- Strong professional writing and documentation skills with the ability to produce executive-level reports, policies, and strategic recommendations.
- Experience in designing and implementing enterprise-wide records management frameworks.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across large, complex organisations.
- Deep understanding of policy development processes and governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to records management and privacy, such as GDPR, APRA, or other relevant frameworks.
- Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
