Role Overview
Based in Brisbane and surrounding suburbs, you are a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist with a commitment to real care and solutions based outcomes. In this role, you will assess, plan, and implement therapy programs tailored to each client's unique needs. Key Responsibilities
- Mobile Occupational Therapy: Provide therapy services directly in clients' homes, schools, or community settings, ensuring convenience and comfort.
- Functional Capacity Assessments: Conduct deep comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' abilities and individualised therapy plans.
- House Assessments: Evaluate clients' living environments and recommend modifications to enhance safety and accessibility.
- Mobility Equipment Prescription: Assess and prescribe appropriate mobility aids and adaptive equipment to enhance clients' independence.
- Collaboration: Work closely with families, caregivers, and other health professionals to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed reports, progress notes, and recommendations in compliance with industry standards and NDIS requirements.
- Education: Provide training and education to clients, families, and support workers on therapeutic interventions and equipment usage.
- Professional Development: Stay updated with best practices, research, and participate in ongoing training opportunities.
Essential Criteria
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).
- Specialisation in paediatrics, or other areas such as mental health, or assistive technology.
- Experience working with diverse client groups, including NDIS participants, aged care, or paediatrics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (for community visits).
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working within the NDIS framework. - Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Blue Card (Working with Children Check) (if working with children).
- Professional Indemnity Insurance.
- Manual handling and equipment prescription experience.
- Eligibility for membership with Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA).
