Operating in several countries throughout the world, this opportunity as a qualified and experienced OCE will see you in the Australian operation working at the Isaac Downs Mine in Moranbah, Queensland.
About the role
EPSA is seeking an OCE to be permanently employed by the company on a full-time basis. The role focuses on:
- Fulfilling the statutory requirements for the Open Cut Examiner including inspections and reporting.
- Effectively utilisation of shift personnel and equipment resources to achieve the mine plan and production targets.
- Demonstrating visible and engaging leadership to achieve production plans.
- Effectively communicate with other departments and teams to develop detailed weekly plans.
- Effectively communicating shift performance in a timely manner.
- Engaging with crew members in pre-shift meetings.
- Having a very high commitment to health, safety, quality, and the environment.
To be successful you will have:
- Written / verbal communication with Microsoft Office proficiency
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to lead a cohesive team effectively and with accountability
- Understanding of targets and ability to deliver against them
- Passion for safety
Essential
- Valid Practicing Qld OCE examiner qualification issued under the Practicing Certificate Scheme (PCS)
- RIIENV301E: Conduct atmospheric monitoring
- RIIMCU403E: Apply and monitor the gas management plan
- Supervisor competencies: RIIRIS301E; RIIWHS301E: RIICOM301E (S123)
- RIIRIS402: Carry out the risk management process (G2)
- Surface coal mining induction QLD (Standard 11)
- Current Queensland driver licence: C class (minimum)
- QLD Coal Mine Workers Health Scheme Assessment or willingness to complete along with a Pre-Employment Medical.
Desirable
- Current operating skills/tickets for various equipment on site
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an OCE capacity
- Current advanced first aid competencies including CPR
