Metro Mining Limited (ASX:MMI) is an Australian exploration and mining company based in Brisbane. Metro’s flagship project, the Bauxite Hills Mine, located 95km north of Weipa is one of the largest independent projects within the internationally acclaimed Weipa Bauxite Region.
As Electrician, you will provide a diverse array of electrical services for fixed plant, camp facilities, and auxiliary equipment. This encompasses installations, maintenance, repairs, and testing of electrical equipment across different sections of the site. In the role of electrician, strong problem-solving skills are essential for maintaining the smooth operation of electrical systems and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a diverse range of electrical services to fixed plant, camp facilities, and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform new installations, breakdown assistance, preventative maintenance, repairs, and statutory testing of electrical equipment.
- Work on a variety of equipment across the site, including Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), Water Treatment Plants (WTP), crushers, screens, and a barge loading facility comprising conveyors and spreaders.
- Ensure adherence to Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and relevant safety, mining, and other legislation at the mine site.
- Complete tasks as directed by supervisors with a focus on efficiency and quality.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of electrical maintenance schedules to ensure timely and effective servicing of equipment.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to colleagues regarding electrical systems, troubleshooting methods, and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to identify and source necessary electrical components and materials for maintenance and repair tasks.
Essential Requirements
- An Australian Electrical Trade Qualification
- A QLD Electrical License and unrestricted C Class Driving license
- Current CPR/LVR and First Aid certification
- Own tooling specific to the trade
- EWP, Forklift, AC ticket (highly regarded)
- PLC/Instrumentation experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Excellent troubleshooting, breakdown and diagnostic skills
- Able to work within and contribute to the team, working with a diverse team environment.
