Credit Controller

NXT GIG is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring the company's credit policies and managing customer accounts to ensure timely payments. Your key responsibilities will include establishing payment terms, assessing creditworthiness, issuing invoices, and following up on overdue accounts. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of credit management principles. • Manage the credit control process and maintain accurate records of customer accounts
• Assess credit applications and set credit limits for customers based on risk analysis
• Issue invoices and follow up on overdue payments through calls and written correspondence
• Negotiate payment plans with customers to mitigate bad debts while maintaining relationships
• Work closely with the sales team to ensure seamless communication regarding customer accounts
• Prepare reports on aged debt and account statuses for management review
• Maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to credit control

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar financial role
• Strong knowledge of credit management principles and practices
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
