About the Role:

In this role, you will conduct comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments and develop individualised rehabilitation and reablement programs; collaborating with families and healthcare professionals to enhance our clients' quality of life. You will work within both our residential and community programs, receiving support from our Allied Health team to make a meaningful impact on the client's aging journey and help optimise their independence. As a member of the LHG team of multi-disciplinary health professionals, you will engage in health promotion activities across all LHG health services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of clients upon admission and as needed to develop tailored therapy plans
  • Offer Home Safety assessments and recommend home modifications to promote independent living
  • Conduct Assisted Technology and equipment prescription to ensure clients can continue to live confidently and comfortably at home
  • Collaborate with clients, families, stakeholders, and Allied Health Professionals to address therapy needs
  • Provide evidence- based therapy to support clients in enhancing or sustaining their abilities for daily living activities
  • Work with the Allied Health Team to support the community's ageing and frailty needs in both residential and community care settings
About You:

The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise and skills in applying appropriate treatment and evaluation techniques. Prior experience in a community or rehabilitation setting for older adults is also preferred. Proficiency in collaborating with a diverse range of individuals is essential. A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent) with verified experience is required, along with current AHPRA registration. A valid South Australian driver’s licence is necessary for this role. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Candidates are required to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment with the successful candidate also requiring a current NDIS worker clearance . In accordance with current health guidelines for the aged care sector, candidates are encouraged to have all recommended vaccinations.
