Job Title: Project Manager – Renewable Energy EPC Projects

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to join our experienced team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing renewable energy projects, primarily focusing on Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects in South Australia, Victoria, and New South Wales, typically around 5 MW in capacity. This position involves overseeing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead end-to-end management of renewable energy and energy storage system projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing phases.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with clients, landowners, regulatory bodies, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure project alignment with stakeholder expectations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Liaise with government agencies and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary development approvals and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Contract Management: Administer contracts with consultants and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to terms and conditions, and managing any variations or disputes.
- Risk Management: Conduct project and contract risk assessments, proactively identifying potential issues and implementing mitigation strategies to avoid project delays and budget overruns.
- Budgeting and Scheduling: Develop and manage project budgets and schedules, ensuring projects are delivered within financial and time constraints.
- Quality Assurance: Review and sign off on Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and quality requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Team Leadership: Provide training, coaching, and support to project teams, fostering a productive and safe working environment.
- Reporting: Prepare and present project reports to senior management, detailing progress, risks, and any issues requiring attention.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, project management, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience in construction, renewable energy, project management, or engineering.
- Technical Knowledge: Sound understanding of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS)
- Project Lifecycle: Ability to understand all facets of the project lifecycle, including in-depth technical understanding.
- Budget Management: Proven experience in managing budgets and maintaining cost control.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Microsoft Project and Excel.
- Communication Skills: Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple competing demands in a dynamic environment.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and inspire others.
- Certifications: Accreditation with the Australian Institute of Project Management is highly desirable.
- Licenses: Valid driver's license.
