Job Title: Project Manager – Renewable Energy EPC Projects

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to join our experienced team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing renewable energy projects, primarily focusing on Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects in South Australia, Victoria, and New South Wales, typically around 5 MW in capacity. This position involves overseeing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.​

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead end-to-end management of renewable energy and energy storage system projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing phases.​
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with clients, landowners, regulatory bodies, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure project alignment with stakeholder expectations.​
  • Regulatory Compliance: Liaise with government agencies and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary development approvals and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.​
  • Contract Management: Administer contracts with consultants and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to terms and conditions, and managing any variations or disputes.​
  • Risk Management: Conduct project and contract risk assessments, proactively identifying potential issues and implementing mitigation strategies to avoid project delays and budget overruns.​
  • Budgeting and Scheduling: Develop and manage project budgets and schedules, ensuring projects are delivered within financial and time constraints.​
  • Quality Assurance: Review and sign off on Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and quality requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.​
  • Team Leadership: Provide training, coaching, and support to project teams, fostering a productive and safe working environment.​
  • Reporting: Prepare and present project reports to senior management, detailing progress, risks, and any issues requiring attention.​

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, project management, or a related discipline is highly desirable.​
  • Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience in construction, renewable energy, project management, or engineering.​
  • Technical Knowledge: Sound understanding of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS)
  • Project Lifecycle: Ability to understand all facets of the project lifecycle, including in-depth technical understanding.​
  • Budget Management: Proven experience in managing budgets and maintaining cost control.​
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Microsoft Project and Excel.​
  • Communication Skills: Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.​
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple competing demands in a dynamic environment.​
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and inspire others.​
  • Certifications: Accreditation with the Australian Institute of Project Management is highly desirable.​
  • Licenses: Valid driver's license.​

  • Internal: Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and research & development departments.​
  • External: Engage with clients, landowners, regulatory bodies, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.​

  • Adherence to project budgets, schedules, and quality standards.​
  • Positive stakeholder feedback and maintained relationships.​
