The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Surveillance and Emergency Response System Administrator to be part of our Major Programs and Regions division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
Under the State’s emergency management arrangements, the Department of Primary Industries and Regions is the lead agency for emergency animal (including marine) and plant disease responses. It also provides support post other hazard emergencies that impact on animal welfare and/or primary production and other adverse events. The Department's Emergency Management, Drought and Resilience Team is: the coordination point for PIRSA’s emergency management capability and capacity and is the key contact on this matter for other government agencies (local, state and commonwealth); responsible for ensuring that PIRSA is positioned to respond to emergency management requirements through the development and implementation of proactive preparedness activities in collaboration with key stakeholders from across PIRSA, other relevant government agencies and non-government organisations including agricultural peak bodies; and also leads the development and implementation of best practice policy and training.
The Surveillance and Emergency Response Systems (SERS) Administrator’s primary purpose is to provide cost-effective and efficient management and administration of the Department’s bespoke SharePoint based Surveillance and Emergency Response System (SERS) – the key information management system used for biosecurity and other emergency responses. The role also provides systems support for other adverse event responses.

Requirements
- Possession of a current driver’s license and willingness to drive.
- Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be required.
- Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
- You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations when applying for a role.
- The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.
- Desirable Qualifications: Qualifications in a relevant discipline.
Remuneration
ASO5 $85,790 pa - $95,413 pa min max per annum, plus superannuation
