Primary Objective: Provides a recognised reference point and consistent broad level of influence regarding service planning and delivery to multi-disciplinary clinicians across a defined practice area. The Nurse Unit Manager Infection Prevention & Management Unit oversees Infection prevention and management across Royal Darwin & Palmerston Hospitals. The NUM is the NSQHS Standard 3 Lead for RDPH and duties include providing high level infection control expertise and advice to executive, outbreak management and ensuring compliance with infection control protocols. The role also works collaboratively across the Northern Territory, with the regional IPMU Clinical Leads. They work with the Director of Clinical Operations to review service development to achieve improved outcomes for both patients and staff. Whilst a postgraduate qualification is an essential requirement for ongoing appointment to this vacancy, all applicants will be assessed. If the most suitable applicant does not hold the qualification, they may be appointed on a fixed basis with ongoing appointment subject to attaining the qualification during the fixed term. One vacancy is available, either ongoing or fixed for 2 years.
