About The Role
Centurion is seeking expressions of interest from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants aged 18-24 applicants for the Frank Cardaci Traineeships. As a Frank Cardaci Traineeship Program – Trainee Freight Officer, you'll work hands-on with our freight operations team, gaining practical skills and knowledge across a range of logistics and freight management activities. This fully funded traineeship will support you as you work toward a Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations qualification, setting a strong foundation for your career in the transport and logistics industry. Throughout the traineeship you will be supported by Centurion’s Youth and Indigenous Development Coordinator, who will support you with regular weekly to monthly check-ins.

Trainee Freight Officer Key Responsibilities
Efficiently handle and receive freight, ensuring accurate loading, unloading, and securing of various freight sizes.Use ratchet straps, chains, and binders to secure freight safely and prevent transit damage.Maintain organised records of shipments, including accurate completion of manifests and delivery receipts.Monitor inventory levels, assisting with stock checks and inventory control.Follow safety protocols rigorously, with a focus on the proper handling and securing of goods.Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams for smooth logistics operations.Inspect incoming and outgoing freight for accuracy, reporting any damages or discrepancies immediately.
Skills And Experience
Self-motivated and a team playerDriver’s License and Own Vehicle (or stable transport to get to work) preferredWilling to undertake a 12–24-month traineeship
