About the role
The Mechanical Fitter role is a Full-time position, based at Golden Grove, South Australia. Reporting to the Manager at our Bricks manufacturing site, you will be working Monday to Friday 6am-2pm assisting with general maintenance and breakdown work. You may be required to work the afternoon shift cover (2pm-10pm) from time to time.
Ideally, the successful applicant will be required to have a manufacturing or Building background, Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate or Boilermaker Certificate, have good attendance and have a strong safety awareness. An Electrical licence will be considered as highly advantageous.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Champion a safety-first culture within the factory in pursuit of a zero-harm environment ensuring to Never Walk Past.
- Complete planned maintenance tasks.
- Fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs.
- General machining
- Complete repairs or modifications as requested by your Supervisor.
- Mechanical Fitting, maintenance related to conveyors, strappers, Kiln rails, extruder, bricks handling machinery, conveyors, bearings rollers etc.
- Fabrication-Simple stick and MiG welding tasks.
- Competence in Welding
- Machine tools - Occasional use of milling machine, lathe and pedestal drill.
- Exposure to Hydraulics
- Strong Safety standards.
- Maintain safe work & operating practices; and maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
