In Australian and New Zealand, the Devices team are behind products like Echo with Alexa, Fire TV and Kindle. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and high-energy leader who is passionate about building awareness and delivering sales success of Amazon Devices with our retail partners across Australia and New Zealand. The ideal candidate will demonstrate customer obsession and a passion for growing our strategic partnerships that deliver mutual business growth and world-class customer experiences. This is a key leadership role, spearheading our Offline Retail Sales & Marketing team of account management, channel marketing and operations. It is a high visibility role with broad reach and impact, across the CE/IT retail sector and within Amazon, setting channel strategy, implementing go-to-market plans for all product categories, and being the ‘voice of the customer’ in developing strong joint business plans with key partners. The role will be the primary lead in managing key partnerships, and diving deep on engagement, negotiations, forecasting and execution. You will own annual channel planning, sales and marketing strategies, delivering sales results, and overall operational excellence. You will have a strong understanding of, and background in, the ANZ retail, reseller and distribution landscape, and experience managing at all levels of an organization including C-suite. You should have excellent team leadership and management skills, strong business judgement and exemplary written, verbal and interpersonal skills. This position is based in Amazon’s Sydney or Melbourne offices.
Key job responsibilities
• Own short and long-term channel strategy, market forecasting and implementation of go-to-market plans for Amazon Devices, including building awareness of Amazon’s devices for retail and distribution channels across ANZ
• Own sales targets for the Offline Retail channel and manage weekly to annual business review cadences internally with senior leadership
• Lead a team of high performing sales, marketing and operational team members to build a strong sales and marketing team culture, with particular attention on inclusion and diversity
• Work closely with internal teams (product management, legal, marketing, finance, supply chain, PR) to ensure management of all controllable inputs including product placement and availability across multiple sales channels
• Manage all related channel investments with clear ROI deliverables to achieve exemplary in-store merchandising and messaging, leading to best-in-class customer experiences
• Build deep relationships with senior retail stakeholders and develop strategy for executive engagement with internal leadership
• Establish engagement mechanisms with key partners to measure and monitor business performance and optimize joint business opportunities
• Effectively resolve and root cause operational and financial challenges
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience analyzing data and best practices to assess performance drivers
- 8+ years of account or relationship management, small business logistics, or retail/vendor/supplier management experience
- Experience building strategic relationships with stakeholders, including communicating and collaborating across teams and functions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence others at all levels of the organization
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workload, maintain strong attention to detail, and work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- Proficiency in MS tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Quicksight/Power BI reporting dashboards
