About the role
South West Healthcare's Infant Child and Youth Mental Health Service is a specialised and highly proficient team and incorporates the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Assessment team. Our service is seeking applications from committed and dynamic health professionals with advanced skills and knowledge in the autism spectrum.
The primary role of the ASD Assessment Coordinator is to oversee and organise ASD assessments for children and young people aged 6 – 25 years old. The ASD Assessment Coordinator is responsible for managing the assessment waitlist, coordinating regular ASD assessment team meetings, and providing or organising education and supervision to other members of the assessment team. The ASD Assessment Coordinator will also complete ASD assessments as a member of the ASD assessment team.
Position overview
- Employment Type: Part-time (56 hours per fortnight), temporary parental leave position
- Location: Warrnambool Campus
- Classification: Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4, Social Worker/Occupational Therapist/Psychologist/Speech Pathologist Grade 3
- Salary Range: $101,597.60 - $121,113.20 pro rata, plus superannuation
What you bring
- AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist/Psychologist/Mental Health Nurse; or eligibility for membership for Speech Pathology Australia (Speech Pathologists); or an accredited Social Worker eligible for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Required experience level applicable for dependent discipline for Grade (eg. psychology 5 years, social work, occupational therapist and speech pathologist 7 years) working in paediatric allied health, neurodevelopmental assessment and ASD and/or mental health settings
- Clinical experience or training in ASD assessment tools
- High level interpersonal skills and demonstrated abilities to consult, liaise and negotiate with family members, members of the general community and other professionals.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal particularly in the areas of report writing and verbal feedback.
- Ability to function independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Knowledge, principles and application of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022.
- Demonstrated record of and willingness to engage in ongoing professional and performance development.
