About the Role
As a member of our Trauma team, you will play an integral role in attending all Level 1 and 2 trauma call-outs, directly contributing to trauma assessment and patient care. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation in our trauma booklet, gathering essential pre-hospital data, and ensuring that all information is recorded for the National Trauma Registry. Your clinical expertise will be put to the test as you perform primary, secondary, and tertiary surveys on trauma patients, and demonstrate vital trauma skills such as tube thoracostomies, splinting fractures, and wound washouts.
In addition to your clinical duties, you will actively engage in educational opportunities by presenting Level 1 trauma cases during weekly audits and attending regular teaching sessions led by our Trauma consultants and fellows. The role also includes clinical supervision, with guidance from the Emergency Department Consultant, Trauma Fellow, and Trauma Surgical Consultants in assessing and managing patients. You will have the opportunity to enhance your knowledge and skills in a supportive environment while contributing to the ongoing development of our Trauma Service.
About YouWe are looking for a dedicated and skilled medical professional to join our Trauma Service team. To be successful in this role, you will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Relevant Qualifications & Experience: MBBS or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certified, with clinical experience in trauma, particularly at a Senior RMO or Registrar level.
- Clinical & Communication Skills: Strong clinical skills in trauma care, with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Leadership & Teaching Abilities: Proven experience in supervising medical staff and teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Commitment to Quality & Patient Care: A comprehensive understanding of trauma management, quality improvement, and a commitment to patient rights and responsibilities.
