About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced HR professional to join our team in the position of Principal HR Business Partner & Team Leader. Heading up the HR business partnering (HRBP) team, this position is responsible for ensuring the implementation of a robust HR business partnering model, providing expert HR advice, and guiding and mentoring a small team.

As a senior member of the SAAS HR team, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with the HR Manager, as well as leaders across other disciplines of the Workforce Service Directorate, to enhance HR consultancy and advisory services, and continually build leadership capability. The role provides high-level coaching and support to leaders, manages complex employee relations matters, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with employment related legislative and policy requirements whilst optimising the employee experience.

This role offers the opportunity to work with a highly dedicated team, making a meaningful contribution to the South Australian community by supporting frontline emergency services professionals and support staff, to provide essential clinical care to South Australians each and every day.

About You

To be successful you will bring:

  • Extensive HR business partnering experience, with a strong background in employee relations including experience in conducting and/or evaluating the outcomes of workplace investigations and advising on employee misconduct and performance improvement matters
  • Proven leadership capability with demonstrated ability to guide, coach and mentor others
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Well developed written communication skills with experience in drafting a range of formal and informal documents
  • Well-developed analytical and critical thinking skills, combined with a strategic mindset to drive HR solutions that minimise risk and optimise employee engagement and wellbeing
  • A high level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • A strong focus on customer service and a commitment to delivering best-practice HR services
