A great opportunity for an experienced Business Generalist to join for a short-term contract until 30 June 2025 with potential extension.
About the role:
The Business Generalist in the OAAI Operations Team is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work. This role supports the new internal Auslan Interpreting service by helping to address continuous improvement items. A Business Generalist skillset is preferred. Auslan Interpreting qualifications, skills, and lived experience is not required. The Business Generalist is required to provide detailed technical, policy, operational support, and advice in relation to complex problems.
The position may liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a representational role on behalf of OAAI. Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
• Managing the Auslan interpreting booking system, supporting staff, and assigning bookings for direct reports to action.
• Managing Auslan interpreting workflow and responding to escalations, feedback or complaints from staff.
• Implementing and evaluating the Auslan Interpreting Program, and improving outcomes through innovation and collaboration with staff, Agency teams, and external stakeholder groups.
• Leading OAAI projects with support and delivering project outcomes in accordance with the Agency’s project management framework.
• Capturing data to measure performance, and prioritising insights, actions and recommendations.
• Developing innovative initiatives and contributing to business improvement strategies to improve the quality and efficiency of OAAI services, projects, and workplace practices.
• Contributing to the development of team objectives and prioritise OAAI tasks, projects, and services.
• Working independently or under limited guidance in relation to an area of OAAI expertise
About you :
You are a highly motivated and adaptable professional with a strong background in business operations and project management. With the ability to work independently and collaboratively, you excel at problem-solving and delivering innovative business improvement strategies. Your strong communication skills enable you to liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth operational support and service delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex operational challenges.
  • The ability to manage workflows, respond to escalations, and support process improvements.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills to collaborate across teams and external groups.
  • Experience in project management, data analysis, and performance measurement.
  • A proactive and innovative mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Benefits:
  • ASAP start (pending Federal Police Clearance)
  • Temporary assignment until 30 June 2025 with the possibility of extension
  • Full time hours Monday to Friday
  • Sydney Locations + hybrid working from home options.
  • $60.26 per hour + Super
