About the role
We are looking for an experienced and mature Disability Support Worker to join our team.
As a support worker in our team, you will be responsible for supporting individuals with daily living skills, assisting with social and recreational activities, implementing and monitoring practices that will promote a healthier lifestyle, empowering participants to help them achieve their goals. The role will involve working with participants with both low and complex needs. Some may need assistance with medication prompts, and others may show complex behaviours. Experience and professionalism are highly recommended.

Here is a bit more about your role as a MHCS Support worker:
- You will be a valued team member helping to provide services to support clients’ individual needs in both their home and community
- Paid hours (casual) + Kilometres - Attractive hourly rates!
- Broken Shift Allowance
- Set roster with the chance to pick up shifts along the way!
- You MUST have a current driver's license and preferably own car to use on shifts
Additional Responsibilities Include:
- Build rapport and collaborate effectively with staff/management, participants, their family, and friends to achieve a positive outcome and ensure a smooth service delivery flow throughout the participants' plan.
- Assist with liaising with participants' families and friends to explore new goals, ambitions, promote and empower participants to achieve their goals and provide a medium of solid communication.
- Increase participants skills with your active support and promote independence by enhancing their skills and personal development.
- Provide quality and professional support in line with participants plans, needs, and wants.
- Assisting participants with accessing their social community to engage with their friends and social groups to promote a healthier lifestyle.
- Implement strategies and programs to develop/enhance participant skills, identify areas of increased support and opportunities for services to help achieve their goals.

Pay: $34.61 per hour
