Role:- Senior Company Accountant - Part Time 3-4 days a week (Hybrid)Location:- Sydney cbd
In this role, you will assist the CFO of a highly innovative products and corporate management company, whose platform drives efficiency and transparency, which all unites to make a real difference in how organisations manage their finances and track spending and credit card usage.
As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing financial and accounting activities within the organisation. This includes the preparation of financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and developing internal control policies and procedures. You will also play a key role in data analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
About the role:
- Assist in all accounting operations including Billings, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Revenue Recognition.
- Prepare and analyse financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Review financial statements and add commentaries to variances Actuals Vs Budget
- Send all the global monthly financial statements and reporting to the CFO for review before consolidation.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Prepare the cashflow statements.
- Coordinate and prepare the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Prepare and manage all SAAS and financial metrics for reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Maintain existing accounting policies and develop and document additional business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Reconcile Annual and Long service leave accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Coordinate and assist with auditing internal and external audits.
- Manage, prepare and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Work and guide on miscellaneous and additional finance tasks to support the team, as required.
- Work closely with and support the CFO under their guidance.
- Considerable and proven working experience as a Senior Accountant, ideally with a SaaS company.
- Minimum 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
- Advanced degree in Accounting; CPA or CA preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience with creating financial statements.
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong support and team management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Desired expertise in Microsoft Office tools. eg: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, macros, V-Lookup, Power BI etc.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Bonus points for familiarity with SAGE 300.
