We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Foreman to join our team working on large construction projects in and around Sydney.
About the role
Working within a dynamic team and reporting to the Site Manager your duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Operate sites with a best practice approach to health and safety. Observe and demonstrate safe work practices and ensure all suppliers and subcontractors do the same.
- Assist the Site Manager to manage and coach staff effectively by conducting regular meetings with each direct report to ensure they are meeting their key deliverables. Proactively address performance issues as they arise.
- Formulate the site programme (fortnightly and monthly) in accordance with the project target program and issue to relevant parties (including Project Manager and subcontractors).
- Management of site activities to achieve the most productive use of available materials and construction resources (internal and external).
- Manage the day-to-day activity of subcontractors and site labour to the project plan, project drawings and specifications.
- Work in conjunction with the Site Manager regarding receipt and distribution of all relevant correspondence and administration.
- Preparation and administration of defects list for trades.
- Maintain overall quality assurance whilst ensuring building compliance.
- Maintain and monitor all environmental site-specific issues.
- Immediately notify the Site Manager on issues likely to have a substantial impact on operations.
- Maintain professional relationships with relevant authorities and delegates.
- Assist the Site Manager to maintain a workplace code compliant site
Skills & Experience
- Minimum Cert IV in Building & Construction
- Knowledge of legislation, rules, regulations and standards relating to the construction industry
- Senior First Aid Certificate desirable
- Cert IV in Occupational Health & Safety desirable
- Have a proven track record working on high rise residential / commercial projects in excess of $50M
- Reading and understanding plans and drawings, and providing constructive review for final designs
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and subcontractors
- Must be self-motivated, demonstrating exemplary leadership and multi-tasking skills
- Able to maintain and work towards program and coordinating with the finishes trades accordingly.
