Position Overview
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead and manage all aspects of a small quarrying company in Southern New South Wales, operating three quarries with approximately 20 employees. The CEO will oversee operations, customer/client management, supervise quarry managers, and implement efficiency measures to drive productivity and profitability. Including oversite of landfill and liaison with local government landfill customers. Prior experience in the quarrying industry within NSW is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the company’s strategic vision and operational goals.
- Ensure compliance with NSW quarrying regulations, including safety and environmental standards .
- Identify growth opportunities and implement innovative practices to enhance productivity
- Oversea changes in operations, planning, WHS and business development to meet demands of a changing market environment
- Operational Management
- Supervise quarry managers to ensure smooth day-to-day operations at all sites .
- Oversee production processes, maintenance schedules, and resource allocation.
- Identify and proactively drive efficiency measures.
- Customer and Client Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Negotiate contracts and manage client accounts effectively.
- Manage customer project related analysis, planning and delivery.
- Workforce Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a motivated team of employees, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and accountability.
- Ensure all staff are adequately trained in safety protocols and operational best practices.
- Financial Oversight
- Manage budgets, control costs, and ensure financial targets are met.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as unit costs and production rates.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven leadership experience in the quarrying or mining industry in NSW.
- Comprehensive understanding of NSW quarry regulations and statutory requirements for Quarry Managers .
- Strong background in operational management, safety compliance, and customer relationship management.
- Demonstrated ability to implement efficiency measures and drive organizational change.
