ARC Disability Services Inc. is a community-based organisation with a long history in the Cairns and Far North, supporting children and adults who have a disability, their families and support networks.Role Summary:
- Full-time Permanent position
- 38hrs per Week
- S.C.H.C.D.S. Industry Award – Level 3 - 4, based on experience
- Be part a committed and supportive team of professionals
- Work within ARC's Quality Team providing training and support to staff
- Facilitate on-boarding, induction and coaching supports
- Work from dual locations in Edmonton and/or Manunda as required
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
- Advise, develop and monitor training for Disability Support Workers to ensure Practice Standards & Legislation are met
- Link in with Quality, Services and HR team to assist with injury prevention, person-centred applications.
- Facilitate complex skills development of Disability Support Worker's with Health Facilitator
- Facilitate hands-on Disability Support Worker training.
- Lead buddy shifts on site
- Support Supervision Framework
- Review training packages
- Provide up to date training standards and best practice.
- Drug and Alcohol Testing Support within service delivery areas.

To be successful in this role you should have:
- Experience working hands on with a variety of people with disabilities
- An understanding of person-centred practices and UN Convention on the rights of people with Disabilities
- An understanding of NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework
- Training, mentoring and/or coaching experience.
- Good IT literacy and ability to translate policy, procedures and processes.
- Cert III in Individual Support (desirable)
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
- Working with Children (Blue Card) and Disability Services (Yellow Card) and a Right to Work within Australia.
- Undertake pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
- Current Queensland Drivers Licence
